The main canine event before the WDS-2016 took place on 31st October – 1st November in Crocus Expo IEC, in Moscow

About 11,843 dogs of 250 breeds took part in the largest dog show, which was traditionally opened by the RKF president, a famous stunt man, director and producer – Mr. Aleksandr Inshakov. The participants came from all over the country and from abroad. The most numerous groups were Italian Cane Corso, Labrador Retrievers, Siberian Huskies and Pomeranian Spitzs. About 95-125 dogs of these breeds were in the rings every day of the show. The guests could see at the Dog Show some rare breeds for our country: Cesky Terrier, Russian Piebald Hound, English Toy Terrier, Bavarian Mountain Hound, Field Spaniel.

Movie stars and celebrities came to the show to support homeless dogs from shelters: "Reflection", "Home", "Sheremetyevsky" and "Super Dog". These shelters are participants in a traditional charity campaign "Give the house to a dog!". At the show the volunteers of “Sheremetyevsky” shelter found a family for an American bulldog Sam and American Staffordshire Terrier Ranil. Several families with little children decided to come and choose a pet. The dog shelter “Super Dog” made a photo presentation and one of the kennel names donated the “Super Dog” all the dog food they won as a prize. The representatives of the “Reflection” shelter told that some people had also donated some dog food to them and they pointed out that after the show a lot of people started calling them in order to take a shepherd.

The RKF is actively supporting various social organisations. Patients of the rehabilitation centre "Overcoming", where people with severe spinal cord and cerebral palsy are being treated, arrived at the Dog Show "Russia-2015".

One of the highlights of the show was the performance of the instrumental group “Verona Violin Show” and the performance of Anna Volkova, who is a young four-time European and World champion in the Dance Show.
