FCI President visits China Kennel Union and China Small Animal Protection Association

The FEDERATION CYNOLOGIQUE INTERNATIONALE (FCI)’s President, Rafael de Santiago, paid an official visit to the China Kennel Union (CKU) and the China Small Animal Protection Association (CSAPA) on November 26, 2015 in Beijing, China.

On the afternoon of 27 November, the film The Peruvian Hairless Dog was shown at the FCI headquarters. We took this opportunity to celebrate the 30th anniversary of this breed being recognised as a breed native to Peru, as well as the founding of the Belgian club dedicated to the breed.

What’s new between dogs and humans?

No other type of pet currently attracts such huge attention from scientists as the dog. Research is particularly focused in this regard on the two major areas of “Learning, cognition and intelligence of dogs” and “Interaction and bonding between dogs and humans”.

On November 5, 2015, the FCI Office was very happy to host an extraordinary meeting of the FCI Standards and Scientific Commissions. The meetings took place in a very friendly atmosphere with the contribution of the FCI President, Mr Rafael de Santiago.

Launch of Raad van Beheer – Youth

A very enthusiastic team has been working this year on the Raad van Beheer – Youth initiative. At the Amsterdam Winner Show, 11-13 December, their initiative was officially launched, in cooperation with the international initiative FCI Youth introduced last year in Helsinki.

The main canine event before the WDS-2016 took place on 31st October – 1st November in Crocus Expo IEC, in Moscow About 11,843 dogs of 250 breeds took part in the largest dog show, which was traditionally opened by the RKF president, a famous stunt man, director and producer – Mr. Aleksandr Inshakov.

AN AMERICAN Cocker Spaniel breeder from France is celebrating becoming Eukanuba World Challenge Champion – the second dog they’ve bred to win the prestigious competition.
